 "We recently had a difficult situation develop with one of our long-term employees. He was a special person in our company that had mental and physical disabilities. We always supported him and paid close attention to his needs but over time his condition deteriorated and he was not able to continue working. Because he was only 62 years old he was not eligible for social security and other benefits. Lisa Kolton was recommended to us as someone who could deal with these kinds of issues. Lisa helped navigate the complexities of the social security system and spent hours bringing him to doctors, filling out SS forms, accompanying him to interviews and advocating for him with the State disability system. She helped organize a transfer for him to live with his sister in NY and contacted the necessary NY offices to give them a completed overview of his situation. A new Social Worker was assigned to help make the transfer and Lisa worked to make everything work.
